PWB: grammie's no-crust apple pie

A Poisonwood Bible with no boundaries, made with sisters, perspectives, patience and a handful of knowledge.

Ingredients:
6 Characters (Leah, Adah, Ruth May, Rachel, Orleanna, Nathan) - 6 cups apples - peeled, cored and sliced
1 1/4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
Christian Background - 1 cup white sugar
Congolese Background - 1/2 cup buttermilk baking mix
3/4 cup milk
2 eggs
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 death - cup buttermilk baking mix
Famine & Sickness - 1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 selfishness of Nathan - cup dark brown sugar
3 broken hearts - tablespoons margarine, chilled

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C.)
2. In a large bowl, combine apples, cinnamon, nutmeg, white sugar and 1/2 cup baking mix. Stir together the milk and eggs and mix into apple mixture. Pour filling into pie plate and dot with butter.
3. To make the Topping: In a large bowl, combine 1 cup baking mix, walnuts, brown sugar and margarine. Mix until crumbly and sprinkle over top of apples.
4. Bake in the preheated oven for 60 minutes, or until apples are cooked and topping is golden brown.
5. Place a toothpick in center of pie. If toothpick comes out clean, carefully remove pie from oven.
PWB Recipe:
1. Preheat Ruth May's age to about 5 years old.
2. In a small house, combine Ruth May's sickness and Nathan's selfish disregard for his family's safety. Stir together all the drama between Orleanna and Nathan and mix into the girl's problems, especially Ruth May's. Pour into their lives and dot with famine and hunger.
3. Bake in the preheated oven for 6 months, or until an event sparks a change.
4. Place Ruth May's loss in the center of the Price family's attention. If Nathan has no grief, Orleanna will step up and take control.

  1. I like the difference between the PWB Recipe and the regular Recipe. my favorite line has to be " Preheat Ruth May's age to about 5 years old." I'm not sure why but i like that line a lot.
